Songwriting Workshops and Residencies: From one-hour Q & A sessions to two-week residencies, Monty can put together a program that's right for you. Hanging With Heroes, 2nd-5th: Each group writes a new verse based on their favorite book character for Monty's Hanging Out With Heroes at the Libary song. Great addition to a reading celebration assembly program! Up to 30 students each, 50 minute sessions. Fees
Tag-Team Songwriting, 2nd-5th: Each group contributes to the creation of a brand new song. Progress from one group is passed to the next, and at the end of the day all participants gather to hear the finished product! Song topics can fit any pre-selected curriculum or theme. Three classes minimum, Up to 30 students each, 50 minute sessions. Fees
Say It In a Song: This package program developed with the Oklahoma Arts Council includes a school-wide assembly, a songwriting workshop for up to thirty 3rd-5th grade students, and teaching materials. Workshop participants create lyrics and music on the spot while exploring the ins and outs of songwriting in two one-hour sessions.
4-Step Feedback, 2nd-5th, teens: Do your students get a chance to revise their creative work based on input from their peers? This process can lead to dramatic improvements in writing, art, and/or acting skills!
