Teacher Workshops
Let Monty share his expertise with your teachers!
|
- Scientist in the Classroom!
- All across the country scientists are being encouraged to get out of their labs and speak to the public about their work! You can bring a scientist in to speak to your students! Drawing on his experience as the host of Born to Do Science, Monty shares tips for finding scientists willing to present and for helping them prepare presentations that will engage your students (third grade and up). 1-2 hours.
- Songwriting in the Classroom
- Make up songs with your students for transitioning, for learning, and for celebrating.
Songwriting is a fantastic way for students to synthesize new information. It encourages artistic expression while engaging all your creative muscles. Monty gives tips and methods for writing songs with 2nd-5th grade students. 2-3 hours.
- 4-Step Feedback
- Do your students (2nd grade and up) get a chance to revise their creative work based on input from their peers? This process can lead to dramatic improvements in writing, art, and/or acting skills! Monty teaches a four-step process for group feedback which you can easily learn and implement with your students year-round any time you ask them to create. 60-90 minutes.
